On Sunday I had nothing to do. Bored,
I put on video "On the Run" movie for fifty-something
time, and at the same time read a thriller I knew almost
by heart. I was reading and looking at screen and at
last I recalled my idea of a script about elves (I bet
Yuen Biao would be great elf, he even doesn't need much
make-up). I took my dictionary and started to talk with
it about this elven story. (I already told you the dictionary
is important, why you didn't start from this part, haw
haw). Suddenly my dictionary opened, completely without
sense, at "eyelid" word. (How I am doing it,
well, you should start from, you know, what). I looked
at the screen where already the payroll was going together
with still picture of both stars of the movie and, my
god, Biao winked at me. Slow motion.
God, I said to myself, so, after all,
I am hallucinating, I don't believe, I don't believe
in elves, I also don't believe in you, help me, someone,
and I went to see if it was on the tape or not. So,
if it is a kind of hallucination, everybody can have
it. Just as the thing I saw the next day.
I decided to have a cup of cafe at
little bar in "Land" (quite nice store here
in Warsaw, resembling underground passages in HK). Through
the glass wall I saw the inside of the building, and
farther store window and tall building on the other
side of car park and street, three hundred meters or
something from "Land".
I read a newspaper, drank my cappuccino
and listened to Italian songs. At some moment I started
really to listen to it, as it had nice rhythm, I looked
up and saw opened window in this building three hundred
meters away. The window was not only opened, it was
opening and closing just in time to the beat of Italiano
disco, I was listening at! And the song was from tape,
not from radio. From tape-recorder in this bar, just
imagine. I was looking at it around a minute. I had
enough time to recall my play with a lamp outside of
my hotel restaurant window, which was blinking once
for "yes" and two times for "no"
(in Hong Kong, dears), but this time someone was standing
at this window and playing with it. After this one minute
of pondering over the fact I called waitresses and for
sure they saw what I saw. Window was closing and opening
as long as the music was playing, around four minutes.
Who is able to play with a window for four minutes?
What for? And why in this Italiano disco rhythm? In
the beat with the song he was not listening to?
More or less, this adventure makes
me to be again at peace with world and to believe again
in elves and the rest.
More or less, my world looks just
like that. If I have hallucinations everybody around
me starts to have them too. |
What did they
do to my song, Ma?
I just saw "Millenium Dragon".
Here you have my musings: Yuen Biao does deserve
much better part in much better movie. Is he in such
bad situation he takes anything on the way? No good
scripts? Or, perhaps, producers hate him? He doesn't
have good agent, I bet. Perhaps his wife, who made "no
romance" point in his work agreements is his agent
and PR. But I don't believe in it. This kind of actor's
wife just cannot exist. There is not even an address
for fans. Why? To show he doesn't care about them? Or
to close all doors in invisible walls around him? You
know, "love your audience" is the first thing
you learn when writing scripts. The advice is even more
important for actors, I'm sure.
You know what? I think his wife doesn't exist. He
is just in some kind of monastery kept like a slave
and going out only when his superior needs money. Or
it is a new version of doing prison sentence. Being
not only in prison but forced to keep it in secret.
Poor hero. Wow! This is next good idea for a script,
but beware: Dragonwood already reserves all rights to
this story.
Why I have such horrifying ideas? Well, my Chinese
- English dictionary is saying to me for more than two
months: "champion", "X-ray" and
"in prison". Rather clearly, don't you think?

Yuen Biao and K.G. Jung's birthday |
On 26th of July both of my
idols were born. My only idols. The older
one, Carl Gustav Jung, was born in Switzerland,
and I don't think about him as "deceased".
He was good astrologer, (beside being the
creator of this little thing -psychoanalysis),
and for astrologers nobody is dead.
The other one, born not so long ago,
will make us happy with his movies for a
long time yet.
You can say the guys I care so much about
have nothing in common, beside day of birth.
You are wrong. Jung was very much interested
in Chinese Daoist tracts, knew and used
Yi Qing and you can say he was an ambassador
of Chinese culture. And he was famous. Yuen
Biao, being popular actor, is also an ambassador
of Chinese culture, he is famous and, because
of Ba Kua, the art of Eight Trigrams, martial
arts' way he learned at opera school, he
is also, willingly or not, acquitanced with
Yi Qing rules.
If I know the hour of Yuen Biao's birth,
I could say more. Now I can say only: Wise
Lions are rare, lets protect this rare specie!
More Yuen Biao- isms at Fanclub and at
Dragon-tales. And everywhere, if you look
closely.
